Artistically…
I discovered a passion for creative writing in the early 90s. I immediately fell in love with the spoken word form of poetry and have been doing performance art ever since. I released my first book, “I’m Bored With Christianity,” published under Outskirts Press in 2006, and my second book, “Verbal Paintings;” a collection of poems I’ve written over the past few years, was released in 2008. I am currently working on new material for my third book that’s tentatively titled, “66: The ‘I Am’ in Me,” scheduled for a Spring 2012 release.
Spiritually…
“I am juxtapose to God, yet created in the image of…
I am eternity
I am the son of I Am
And I am destined to be greater than me.”
I have discovered that I Am is the great purveyor of compassion and is an activist against the injustices of the world.
So, I follow suit.
I am the Creative Arts Pastor at New Life Center in Harbor City, California, as well as a member of Just One; a non-profit organization that raises awareness about injustice. I’m also the co-founder of The Freeze Project, a network working to raise awareness about the horrors of human trafficking. In short, I am committed to helping others discover God outside of the “religious routine.”
Personally…
I am a husband, a father, a skater, a snowboarder, a chess enthusiast, a table tennis nerd and a few other things (just ask me). I love connecting with people and eating a good cut of beef, preferably around the rib area (apologies to my vegetarian friends).
